Default Been bugging them about this since beta and still nothing has been done VOTE KILL NPC

They need a VOTE KILL NPC or a VOTE RESPAWN NPC option

basically I'm sure everyone has had the 'wonderful' experience with npcs spawning with 'noclip' on and running underground or up in the air and things like this... They return to where they died (and are either promptly slaughtered again, or end up out of reach of the enemy (and you) and just sit around)...

So the next time you die (and die you do when your down 1-7 party members (as sometimes happens)... the game is over...

the npc will not die, they will not be moved, they just don't care and you get -------...

Causing a game ending bug. This issue needs to be fixed, the simple solution I am constantly providing them would do it. Or it would aleast serve as a temporary fix.

I've noticed players mentioning alot of bugs that I have never encountered, most of which involve terrain and movement errors. It's my guess that alot of players are playing on under powered systems and your poor processing power is to blame. I haven't once run into the ground or had some wierd positioning error, maybe it's time to look inwards, if it was a game flaw then most everyone would notice it, and it would have been located by testers a long time ago.

How is an event that occurs on the server, for 'players' controlled by the server entirely, wherein said NPC's perform impossible acts attributable to an actual human player's computer's abilities?

Unless you perform precautionary actions, henchmen have a tendency to do things they shouldn't be able to. That is, after the party is killed, they can run inside mountains, walls, underground, or into the air, and the thing you can do is apparently target yourself before respawning to keep them with you.
However, that is not the only problem.
Had to restart a quest I shouldn't have had to when Alesia, Stephan, and Dunham decided they'd rather talk with some apparently pretty local settlers than help the group.



You want to attribute that to my computer? ...

Actually, this is rather rampant many times during the game, and does not deal with processing at all, as the actual placement, movement, and so forth of the Henchmen. They will merely run forward towards their last target directly on elevation of the resurrect shrine, and can be targetted and attacked as simply as any other entity in the game.

But yes, this is an issue that should be fixed, though a kill henchmen ability for leaders would be simple, and avoid any real skirting issues until that fix can be provided.

you cannot avoid the issue as it exists everywhere

it is not our underpowered systems (mine is bigger than yours buddy) and you just show your own lack of understanding by saying so

they can be underground or in the air and be unable to be attacked by enemies (sometimes ranged enemies can hit them in the air but its not always for underground... melee enemies seem unable to hit them in either...)

also when you are on bridges and such npcs (probably players too) can melee attack enemies below them under the bridge

If you explore the land with just henchman, and die somewhere... you'll notice after however many times it takes, there is a bug in which a random henchman will float through objects and above the ground, directly towards where you died. It's kinda funny, and ive taken screenshots...

Another experience of mine is when i died, and my enchanter happened to live... well, he ran off and got to a safe distance, and then just stood there... alive... and well... I had to go back to town, and the ending of that quest was like, right there ^.^

In the past two days alone I've had henchies "go on vacation" in the middle of a mission. The first time it was Little Tom.. He just stood around someplace until we picked him back up at a mid-mission cinematic.

Last night Alesia was standing there by an NPC while the rest of the party was getting slaughtered when even a little healing might have made all the difference in the world.

I've also seen them get confused about which human player to follow if the party slpits up to cover an objective. It would be nice to be able to assign henchies to a given player on occasion.

Yes, yes, yes! I have a game right now, as I type, that is minimized where one lone henchmen is alive and the rest of us are dead. We fought our way deep into a zone, got killed. Now there is one lone henchmen standing around idle and we're stuck with no option but to do it ALL OVER AGAIN...over an hours work. Very frustrating... sigh

Actually they could *easily* do a skill routine check.

On Character death or revival,
If player controlled characters = dead.
Alsoif all non player controlled characters = unable to revive players
Do "Fake-kill all nonplayer controlled characters and revive them with players, bring any still alive pets back to respawn with npcs too"

It would be easy to do, I could do it.

There have been many times where my all Henchman party dies and I'm left staring at one floating 30 feet in the air, just standing around. It isn't anyone's poor processor! Why do people always assume because they personally haven't had it happen to them, that it can't? I have a screenshot of me AND another real group member seeing the same thing happen, the healer standing 30 feet in the air, doing nothing. His computer is at least twice as powerful as mine. In fact, this is his screenshot.

i get the same thing every once and awhile, hench men running through walls to fight there last target, then disiding they like it underground better.

i could see problems with this though, like being respond if you have no healers, even if no one is stuck, but i get the point.

Why would healers matter? The signet is something everyone can have, all the routine has to do is check availability on death or on revive. If died, is ther esomeone else that can be revived? The only safety check that also has to go in, is a battle. If the npcs are fighting, dont respawn just yet.

As posted by others, the assumption that someone's computer isn't "powerful" enough and that is why the errors occur shows a lack of knowledge on how GW operates.

This picture is for real:


For example, last nite we respawned and 3 of the NPCs went running through the mountain next to us (no screenshot though). Other times we respawn and a NPC is running back to us.

I find that as more people are on playing the game the frequency of these types of things increase. Along with other lag issues, graphic issues, etc. It would seem that the servers that are streaming and serving up the data could be "stressed."

A kill command would be good, to prevent ending up a journey by teleporting back to town. But it probably wont help for getting back a flying henchman or one who sank into the ground when the rest of the party is still alive: ressurecting the hench might endup in the same position.

Another option would be a /stuck command. The server would respond by moving the complete party to a location nearby. Useually a /stuck command can only be used once in X minutes to prevent abuse.

that's a funny picture... my own expierence: just a few days ago we were doing one of the ascension mission (the river), and we failed to kill the priest before he resurected his team. well his team came back but instead of fighting us they ascended into the air. it was freekin funny cause we had 1 caster, and 1 ranger, and they had to pick them off by themselves. good thing this team after floating far enough away for my sword not to be able to do any dmg they were also useless, and could not fight back, so we all sat while our ranged killers did they're job.

so, i dont think it's just the henchies.

Hey, I haven't experienced these problems so you must all be wrong or have crappy computers!

I have a screenshot where somehow my character ended up about 10 feet underground below where the action was occuring. Normally this happens to henchmen but this Time it happened to me. Rather annoying.

I haven't ended up underground, but once in a Guild Vs. Guild Match, I walked on a bridge, fell through, and got stuck. Concept's about the same though.

For me, the problems are henchmen specific. First off... Stefen has no respect for the laws of physics and must be punished. I've had several times where in his eagerness to be done with the enemy he sets off in a straight line to slaughter them (whereas the rest of us are restricted by the presence of cliffs and such)... however in his zeal he finds himself getting wedged between several ridiculously strong creeps who tear him a new wine-hole.

Alesia has the other problem. I think it's her soft, healing nature. I've often found myself dead, looking at all my dead mates and then... 'hey! wtf! where's Alesia?' Click to her view and find her flirting it up (as usual) with the local pigman or what have you. If she's trying to pick up at our expense she could at least have better taste... go for the Justiciars or Rurik or something... I mean, damn... the pig farmer?
